In 2012 the New Zealand Audiological Society Annual Conference will be held in Hamilton, New Zealand from 7th (commencing at 1pm) to 10th May (NZAS Business Day).

The guest speakers for 2012 are Todd Ricketts and Lindy McAlister.
Todd A. Ricketts, Ph.D, CCC-A, FAAA, is an associate professor and the Director of Graduate Studies, Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences at the Vanderbilt Bill Wilkerson center for Otolaryngology and Communication Sciences; and, Director of the Dan Maddox Hearing Aid Research Laboratory. Todd has published more than sixty scholarly articles and book chapters. To date he has presented over 200 scholarly papers/poster presentations, short courses, mini-seminars, and workshops to professional and scholarly conferences both nationally and internationally. He continues to pursue a federally and industry funded program studying various aspects of hearing, hearing aids and cochlear implants. He was named a Fellow of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association in 2006 and his article ÒDirectional benefit in simulated classroom environmentsÓ received the Editors award from the American Journal of Audiology at the 2008 AHSA convention. He also is a past editor-in-chief of the quarterly journal Trends in Amplification.

In her 37 year career, Lindy has had experience as a clinician, clinical educator/supervisor, director of clinical education, lecturer, head of program, consultant, Visiting Professor in several countries, President of Speech Pathology Australia, and currently is deputy head of AustraliaÕs largest medical school at The University of Queensland. Clinical education/supervision is still a passion, and she continues to supervise allied health students in clinical education settings. She has an international reputation as a researcher and scholar in this area, has authored four books and more than 30 journal articles and chapters, and held several major externally funded grants looking at aspects of teaching, learning and work-based assessment in clinical education/supervision.
